SOME TIPS FOR SELECTIVIDAD.

Hello everybody!

Let me give you some good advice to revise for your English exam.
These are some vital points you must include in your revision for selectividad:



2- Do  one  "Selectividad exam" a day. (find some  in the entry below)


3- Read all the model compositions in your book and workbook:  revise connectors and paragraph organization. Have some practice by doing some of the compositions in the Selectividad Exams in the entry below.
You can find some help in this entry.

4- Do some rewriting activities. (find the answers at the end of all the worksheets)

5- Revise some grammar (include QUESTIONS for answers and PREPOSITIONS)

About Brexit


Hi everybody!

Here is the video about the story of Brexit that we couldn’t watch in class last Tuesday.  Watch it carefully and answer the questions below.




1-When did the UK first become a member of the EEC (European Economic Community)? 
2- When was the first national referendum held in the UK in order to decide whether they wanted to leave the EEC?    What were the results at that time? 
3- How many members does the EU have? 
4- According to the graphs shown, has being a EU member benefited our economies? 
    (GDP= gross domestic product PIB= product interior bruto)
5- Name some aspects in which the UK wanted to stay independent from the EU?
6- What is the article 50 about? 
7- Name some negative sad events happening in the world which made the UK think about Brexit:
 8- Which Prime Minister called the referendum on British membership? 
9- During the campaign, what arguments did far right politicians like Boris Johnson use?
10- On the referendum held on 23rd of June, 2016, how many voted in favour of leaving the UK?

Reading Comprehension&Writing exam, November, 2018


Hi!

It’s time to get ready for the Reading comprehension &Writing Parts of your exam on Monday, 12th.

1) You should give yourself some practice by revising (re-reading) the “extensive reading texts”
-On pages  6-7  and  14-15 book
-On pages 4 and 9 of your workbook
This will help you remember/learn new vocabulary/set phrases etc

2) Have some real practice by doing the “Exam Practice”  on page 16 of your workbook.
    
      Find the answers here to check how well you did it.

3) To get ready for your writing exam:
- Try answering the questions in activity 8 on page 14 of your book.
-Revise vocabulary and expressions connected to “Describing a person”. Remember you have an extra worksheet on that topic + some vocabulary on pages12 of your book and 8 of your workbook.
-Have a look at your previous marked compositions. Try to avoid making the same mistakes.

VOCABULARY
Revise vocabulary, expressions and phrasal verbs on pages 5-6-7 book and page 4 of your workbook.
GRAMMAR
- Verb tenses: Revise activities on pages: 8-9 book and  5-6-7 of your workbook. (you have some more basic practice pages 104 to 110 book)
- Other grammar points: adjective order / so- such / too-enough / word-building: page 111 book. You can find some more practice on pages 10 of your book / page 7 of your workbook.
- Questions for answers: you have been given a worksheet with activities.
- Used to, would, be used to (worksheet with some explanation + activities)
- Adjectives to describe someone’s appearance and personality (page 12 of your book/photocopy on horoscopes / page 8 workbook)

UNIT 1: RISK AND FEAR: RELATIVE CLAUSES
VOCABULARY
- Revise vocabulary, expressions and phrasal verbs on pages 13, 14, 15of your book and page 9 of the workbook.
- Revise vocabulary/ expressions and phrasal verbs about FEELINGS on pages 18-19 book. The activities on pages 12-13 of your workbook can help you revise.
GRAMMAR
- Relative clauses (Defining, non-defining, and reduced relative clauses): pages 16-17 book /112 book
- Revise activities on pages 16-17 of your book and on 11 of your workbook. Don’t forget you have some extra worksheets.

IMPORTANT ASPECTS TO REMEMBER:
- There is a good Vocabulary List on pages 94 to 98 of your workbook
-You can find a Grammar Reference on pages 57- 62 of your workbook
- Don’t forget to revise Irregular Verbs before an exam: There is a list on pages 103-104 of your workbook.

4) Read pages 74-75 of your workbook about word formation (word building)

5) Find some more REPHRASING ACTIVITES here. Find the answers on the last pages.
